In this documentary that opened with awards at the Berlinale, 25 different people, all trans and non-binary, who come to play Woolf’s fictional character while also narrating their own lives. The audience begins to get a sense of Orlando’s orientation and identity as the film unfolds, revealing a collective individual with various aspects of their personality, including different faces, voices, and bodies. The film follows the same structure as the Virginia Woolf ’s novel: a travel diary through history, both intimate and political.
