In the festival’s non-competitive main section, Scale of Justice, four films that explore the pursuit of justice from different perspectives will be presented this year. These films include the story of a father in Slovakia whose life is shattered by a tragic mistake and who puts himself on trial in a courtroom within his own soul; the tense tale of an elderly woman in need of care and the neighbor who tries to support her; and the dilemmas of young people in the Bronx who are forced to grow up too soon in a disadvantaged environment. Although these stories unfold across different geographies, they feel strikingly familiar to everyone…
