In this special screening that reflects the theme of the festival’s academic program, Tomas Elšík’s documentary Resilience will meet the audience. This compelling film invites viewers to rethink humanity’s relationship with nature in a world on the verge of environmental catastrophe, following the stories of Pavel and Klára.

Pavel is devoted to protecting the delicate ecosystems of spring meadows; with a scythe in hand, he carefully harvests the land to preserve rare plant species threatened with extinction, while also working to revive wetlands damaged by deforestation. Klára, however, refuses to accept the destructive traces humanity has left behind. Together with her loyal dogs, Viky and Irbis, she roams the terrain to detect and disable deadly bait traps threatening wildlife, solve a poisoning case involving a protected eagle, and identify the farmers responsible.
