Call for papers was made for the academic program.

The annual International Crime and Punishment Film Festival, organized by the Criminal Law and Criminology Research and Application Center at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, will be held for the 12th time between 18th November and 24th November 2022. The theme of this year’s academic program is “gender equality.”

The problem of equality between men and women, whose history goes back as far as the history of humanity, is still one of the most important and fundamental human rights problems of our time. For this reason, we want to contribute to the determination of the causes of gender equality problems and the search for solutions to these problems. In the academic program of our 12th International Crime and Punishment Film Festival, which will take place between 18 and 24 November 2022, this subject will be discussed with the papers of experts from different disciplines and fields. In this context, issues related to gender equality will be discussed from the perspective of all areas of law such as criminal and criminal procedure law, human rights law, constitutional law, civil law, and administrative law. In addition to these, we would like to bring the issue to the agenda from psychological, sociological, economic, social, cultural, historical, and political aspects.

Paper topics should fall under the theme of the academic program of the Festival as described above, while the sub-themes enumerated below may be regarded as non-exhaustive suggestions.

The academic program is planned to be held on the hybrid mode (face to face and online).

The format of papers and presentations should adhere to International Congress criteria, presentations being limited to 20 minutes speaking time, to be delivered in Turkish or English. Those who wish to present papers are kindly requested to submit the following to the e-mail address academic@icapff.com ”  :

  • title and an abstract including sub-headings of the paper (600-750 words) in the language of the presentation (Turkish or English) by 15 September 2022
  • a text of the oral presentation in Turkish or English by 15 October 2022

These texts will be published with or without peer-review.
