President of the Feature Film Competition Jury at the 13th ICAPFF, Yolande Zauberman’s first documentary, shot in secret in South Africa. The film confronts the cruelty, absurdity, and violence of apartheid, while telling the compassionate life story of Doris and Robert, a couple inspired by their love.
In 1948, a racial classification law was enacted in South Africa. The administrative court classified Robert as mixed race and his wife and children as white, thereby denying him basic rights.
